Lionel Messi: Barcelona star makes plan to beat Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo

Messi got the better of old foe Ronaldo with Barcelona thumping Real Madrid 3-0 at the Bernabeu yesterday.

The Barcelona star scored one and made another on a chastening afternoon for Ronaldo, who was unable to fire Real back into contention for the La Liga title.

The duo’s rivalry will continue into 2018 with Lionel Messi aiming to pip Ronaldo to the prestigious Ballon d’Or award after missing out on it earlier this month.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon claim the Barca No10 has now hatched a plan to ensure he beats Ronaldo to the prize next year.

Many have questioned France Football’s voting system with Ronaldo coming out on top.

The 32-year-old scooped the award after firing Real to La Liga and Champions League glory last season.

Messi, however, has scored more goals than any player in the world this year.

And he has also clocked up more assists, with Ronaldo statistically far inferior.

Don Balon say Messi is desperate to get the recognition he feels he deserves next year.

And, as a result, he has hatched a plan to beat Ronaldo to awards next year.

It is said he plans to ensure Barcelona continue their journey to La Liga glory.

And he also wants to win the Champions League.

Barcelona last won the trophy in 2015, back during Luis Enrique’s time in charge.
