Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger still keen to sign Steven N’Zonzi

N’Zonzi who is rated at £30million by Spanish outfit Sevilla has emerged as The Gunners’ number one target for the January transfer window.

The former Stoke man said he wanted to quit the club after falling out with Eduardo Berizzo after a 3-3 Champions League draw with Liverpool.

But Berizzo was sacked last week after having just recovered from an operation for cancer meaning that N’Zonzi’s future might not be as clear cut as it once appeared.

He has been attracting a lot of interest from the Premier League with Everton who are resurgent under Sam Allardyce also interested.

Toffees boss Allardyce signed N’Zonzi for Blackburn in 2009 before moving onto Stoke and later Sevilla.

While West Ham boss David Moyes, who is looking to strengthen his squad in the New Year, is also interested in signing him.

Italian giants Juventus, like Arsenal boss Wenger, have been long-term suitors for N’Zonzi and are also keen to take him to Italy before the window closes.
