Dear Blink Community,

We’re excited to announce that Blink has been acquired by Amazon! Since launching in early 2016, we’ve been thrilled by your response to our ultra-affordable, truly wire-free video home security cameras and monitoring systems. This acquisition was made possible by your support and I wanted to thank each one of you.

GM Blink Products

Blink first introduced a battery-powered indoor camera, followed by an outdoor version. On Dec. 19, it introduced a $99 Video Doorbell, available for preorder “soon.”

Amazon has made a lot of moves in the smart home in recent years, introducing a variety of smart speakers, as well as an indoor camera designed to work on its own or as part of the new Amazon Key in-home delivery service. Its acquisition of Blink is simply the latest indication that Amazon has a vested interest in the smart home — and home security.
