Former Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams has had his child support payments reduced, according to People. 

The actor, 40, petitioned the court on Thursday to reduce his child support payments after leaving Grey’s Anatomy in May of last year. 

Williams will reportedly have his payments reduced from $40,000 per month all the way down to just $6,413 per month.

‘I am requesting the Court reduce the child support to a reasonable amount I can afford given the significant reduction in my income and the now fluctuating nature of my income,’ Williams expressed in his appeal to the court. 

While Williams made a grand total of $6.2 million and $183,000 in residuals, he reported to the court that he is now making just $1,668 per week, according to Page Six.

He is now starring in the Broadway revival of the musical Take Me Out. In its original run, the show won the Tony Award for Best Play. 

Williams married Aryn Drake-Lee in 2012, and the pair separated in 2017. Their divorce was finalized in 2020. 

The couple share two children together: 8-year-old Sadie and 6-year-old Maceo.

While Williams may not be making as much as he once was on Grey’s Anatomy, the star does still have a number of projects coming out. 

He has two films coming out in 2022 titled Your Place or Mine and Secret Headquarters, which he is currently filming.
