Pokemon Go Legendary Raids countdown: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Lugia end date is NEAR

Pokemon Go fans are counting down to the end of Legendary Raids.

Legendary Pokemon such as Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Lugia will appear as Legendary Raid bosses until August 31.

This means you only have a few hours to battle and capture the powerful Pokemon before they disappear.

But while Niantic has confirmed the end date, the Pokemon go developer is yet to reveal the end time for Legendary Raids.

If it’s anything like previous events, Legendary Raids will stop at around 5pm PDT.

This would be good news for UK fans, giving them a full evening to capture the Legendary Pokemon before they disappear at 1am BST.

Niantic has announced that brand new will follow in the coming weeks.

That’s on top of Gen 3 Pokemon, which have been discovered in the game files. You can see the best Gen 3 Pokemon in the gallery below…

It was suggested that Mewtwo would join Pokemon Go the day after the end of the current crop of Legendary events end.

However, Exclusive Raids are an invitation-only affair, so fans would need to be notified in advance of the Mewtwo release date.

Niantic explains more: “To receive an invitation to participate in an Exclusive Raid Battle, Trainers must have successfully completed a raid recently, by defeating the Raid Boss, at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place.

“The invitations will include advance warning of when the Exclusive Raid will take place, giving them ample time to coordinate with other Trainers before taking on the powerful Raid Stay tuned for more information.”

Even more exciting is the discovery of Gen 3 Pokemon in the game files, as well as new items such as the .

This would presumably let players hatch eggs at a much accelerated rate, although nothing has been confirmed.

Unfortunately, however, the Gen 3 data doesn’t include move sets or sound files, which suggests a full release is some way off.

It’s possible Gen 3 will release after Mewtwo Raids make an appearance in September.
