Terry Pratchett’s unfinished novels DESTROYED by a steamroller

In accordance with the late author’s wishes, the possibility of his unpublished novels being posthumously published has been firmly ruled out.

Pratchett died in 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease

Fellow author Neil Gaiman had told The Times that Pratchett wanted “whatever he was working on at the time of his death to be taken out along with his computers, to be put in the middle of a road and for a steamroller to steamroll over them all.”

Sure enough, that’s exactly what happened last week.

Rob Wilkins, who manages Pratchett’s estate, posted a photo of the hard drive with a steamroller clearly seen in the background.

“About to fulfill my obligation to Terry,” he wrote.

Half an hour later, he added a photo of a very mangled piece of hardware, writing: “There goes the browsing history… Many thanks to @steamfair. Soon to be on display at @SalisburyMuseum in September.”

It will now go on display as part of the exhibition Terry Pratchett: HisWorld, which opens next month at the Salisbury museum.

Pratchett, who was 66 when he passed away, was responsible for the hugely popular Discworld series.

Wilkins posted on Twitter following his death: “Terry took Death’s arm and followed him through the doors and on to the black desert under the endless night. The end.”

Two novels he did complete before his passing have been published posthumously: The Long Utopia and The Shepherd’s Crown.
