Game of Thrones Season 7 WON’T be followed by this big online announcement

This week saw some pretty big event unfold in Game of Thrones Season 7.

But while things heated up and then cooled down in Westeros, there were other events that caught fan attention.

A reported retail listing appeared to tease a new gaming project being worked on by Bethesda.

The leak didn’t include any type of information but did include the words: Bethesda: Game of Thrones.

It seemed like a leak had just occurred that was confirming a major new gaming project for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

However, today has seen the retailer in question explain what happened with the online listing.

Target released a statement to Forbes, confirming that the information on the online page was in fact fake and not something to get excited about.

“This is not a real product – we’re sorry for any confusion,” Target revealed.

This would make sense, as the online page in question didn’t look like a placeholder site, or something that had been put live early by mistake.

For those who were hoping this was true, Bethesda have confirmed that they have a long list of new titles being worked on.

They have also revealed that staple franchises such as The Elder Scrolls will not see a sequel announced for quite sometime.

According to studio VP Pete Hines, Elder Scrolls 6 will not be at Gamescom 2017, or 2018, although he did not rule out something popping up at Gamescom 2019.

That does leave room for a new project to be confirmed, which will unfortunately not being anything connected to Game of Thrones.

Bethesda are a studio who are consistently linked to big gaming projects, with Hines recently having to debunk a myth that the studio were working on a Elder Scrolls – Fallout crossover.

Hines commented on the Bethesda Starfield rumour started on 4Chan, which was revealed to be just someone posing as an employee.

Most fans could guess that this was likely to prove a massive hoax, although there was still an intense amount of interest in whatever is coming next from Bethesda Games Studio.

It was one of the weirder reports to surface during the season pre-E3 madness, claiming that the old trademark of Starfield was going to be a crossover game, including the Fallout and Elder Scrolls universes.
