Quentin Tarantino helming Star Trek movie with JJ Abrams – Will this be his FINAL movie?

The acclaimed director has been adamant for a few years now that he will only direct 10 movies.

Since the release of The Hateful Eight last year, Tarantino has just two to go if he’s going to stick with his plan.

While he’s working on his ninth at the moment, the 54-year-old is planning a Star Trek movie with Abrams, who directed the first two films in the rebooted franchise.

According to Deadline, Tarantino shared his idea with Abrams – who is currently working on Star Wars Episode IX – and the two are planning on assembling a writers room.

Assuming all goes to plan, Tarantino might direct with Abrams producing the Star Trek adventure.

Nevertheless he did once direct two episodes of CSI and one of ER. He also  to make a black and white period movie with Pierce Brosnan.

Tarantino’s ninth film is set to be released in 2019 on the 50th anniversary of the murder of actress Sharon Tate.

Set in 1969 Los Angeles, the film takes place during the Charles Manson murders, although isn’t focused on them.

Actors Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise and Margot Robbie are rumoured to star.

The ninth film by Quentin Tarantino will be released on August 9, 2019.
