The huge smoke cloud above Mount Agung reaches more than 9,000 metres, or seven miles high, according to officials.
Mount Agung appears to be on the brink of an even larger and more destructive eruption as it emits dangerous cold lava and ash.
The Bali volcano is in a “critical phase” with warnings of Mount Agung’s imminent eruption as the mountain’s crater fills up with red-hot lava.
The PVMG estimates that one-third of Mount Agung’s crater has filled with magma, according to Antara News.

“We calculate it based on the monitoring results of Himawari satellite images of seismic recording data, deformation and geochemistry,” said Gede Suantika at the Mount Agung Observation Post in Rendang Village.
He explained that the findings indicate the magma is still very hot and that the volcano is still “in a critical phase”.
Black ash has covered villages on the Bali volcano’s slopes with cold lava flowing down the summit and through villages.
High winds, partially caused by a nearby cyclone, has blown the ash from the Bali volcano onto nearby houses, roads and plants, creating an eerie and abandoned look to towns and villages.
Tremors from Mount Agung continue, meteorological officials warn, although with decreasing frequency.
Scientists are now trying to establish exactly when the volcano could blow after authorities warned a second eruption was ”imminent”.
An estimated 90,000 to 100,000 people live in a danger area near the volcano in the eastern part of Bali.
Authorities believe that so far about 48,670 Bali residents have been evacuated from the homes inside Mount Agung’s danger zone, which stretches up to 10km around the volcano.
But thousands of locals have refused to evacuate despite warnings by the government who have extended a state of emergency in Bali to December 10.
Officials still hope to evacuate some 100,000 people in total.
