Destiny 2 open beta countdown: PC beta release date, time for non-pre order customers

2 developer Bungie is about to release the open beta on PC.

The Destiny 2 open beta has an August 29 release date and a 6pm start time in the UK.

And unlike yesterday’s closed beta, you don’t need to pre-order the game to access today’s demo.

If you don’t want to miss a second of the action, then it’s worth pre-loading the PC beta right now.

To pre-load the PC beta, fans must sign up for a compulsory Battle.net account from the Destiny website.

The PC beta period ends on August 31, although it’s possible Bungie will extend the beta like it did with PS4 and Xbox One.

You can take a look at what’s included in the beta by checking out the gallery below…

The PC beta is almost identical to the Xbox One and PS4 versions, although there have been some gameplay changes.

Fans will also be able to try a brand new map. While PS4 and Xbox One players experienced Control on the Midtown map, PC players will battle it out on Javelin-4.

Bungie has also made changes to matchmaking, scoring and the way the game calculates skill levels.

It now takes less time to charge your Guardian’s Super, and you can expect more grenade damage and increased Power Ammo drops.

Likewise, a number of bug fixes have also been made to the various glitches discovered on console.

The only drawback is that The Farm doesn’t look like it will be playable on PC ahead of launch.

The Farm, which replaces The Tower from the original Destiny, is where players go to collect gear, check messages and interact with fellow Guardians.

It can host 26 players at any given time, and will continue to evolve as you complete missions.

But perhaps the most exciting new feature is the football pitch, which even comes with goal posts and a scoreboard.
