Tiger Woods makes SURPRISING revelation ahead of comeback at Hero World Challenge

The 41-year-old is part of the 16-man field that will compete at the Hero World Challenge, starting on Thursday November 30.

The likes of Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler will all be taking part at the Bahamas event.

But all focus will understandably be on Woods who hasn’t played a competitive round of golf since the Dubai Desert Classic in February.

After requiring his fourth back surgery in just three years, Woods is ready to go again and  his fellow professionals have been impressed by what they have seen from him so far.

Rickie Fowler recently said Woods has been driving “way past him” and, according to Brad Faxon, the 14-time major winner out drove world No 1 Dustin Johnson in last week’s round with US president Donald Trump.

And Woods admits his swing action has caught him by surprise because he expected to feel some pain in his lower back.

“I am a little surprised,” Woods said. “The fact that I don’t have any pain in my lower back compared to what I was living with for years, it’s just remarkable.”

He added: “I haven’t really competed in two years, really. I haven’t really done much.

“I’m looking forward to competing again and finding the rhythm and the feel of playing tournament golf and just hitting shots.

“I haven’t really had a scorecard in my hand in a while and that’s going to be different.”

But Woods admits he still has some apprehension regarding how his game will hold up against the world’s best in the Bahamas this week.

“It could be the next step, I just don’t know and that’s tough to live with. It’s been a struggle for years,” he said.
