29: Schmeichel to the rescue again. Lanzini has a free-kick in an identical position to the last but his powerful shot is parried clear by the Dane.

27: Save! Lanzini whips a dangerous delivery into the six-yard box, and Carroll’s glancing header is tipped away by Schmeichel.
24: This is playing into Leicester’s hands. The Hammers, under strong pressure from supporters, are committing numbers forward and that’s leaving space for Jamie Vardy and the gang. Next goal is crucial…
21: Penalty shout, and a darn good one at that. Masuaku clumsily bundles into Albrighton as he’s pulling the trigger, but the referee isn’t interested.
18: Arnautovic looks to tip-toe his way inside but Simpson anticipates it and clears. Nice to see a little threat from the hosts, who’ve only had 32% possession so far.
15: What? Apparently Albrighton’s goal is the fourth time in six matches that West Ham have conceded with the first shot on target.
14: The Foxes are really enjoying themselves. They’re simply knocking it around the midfield with little to no pressure from West Ham, who are fearing the counter.
11: How’s the response been? I’ll let you know when it happens. 40,000 West Ham fans have never been this quiet…

WEST HAM 0-1 LEICESTER – ALBRIGHTON
8: Oh dear… The London Stadium falls silent as Leicester make the breakthrough inside eight minutes.
Jamie Vardy leaves Zabaleta in his wake as he drives down the left flank before sending a low cross into the box that Marc Albrighton stabs home first time.
7: Congratulations to Andy Carroll, who’s gone a full seven minutes without sending an elbow into anyone’s direction.
6: Positive early signs for Carroll as Arnautovic beats his marker before sending a first-time cross into the area. I sense I’m going to be writing that sentence a lot tonight!
3: Lots of huffing and puffing in the early stages but no chances to speak of. West Ham marginally in the ascendancy having seen more of the ball.
WEST HAM 0-0 LEICESTER
1: And we’re off! I sense some anxiety around the stadium. It’s probably that disastrous Friday night fixture against Brighton playing on supporters’ minds. Can David Moyes banish those grim memories?
TWO-MINUTE WARNING
19:58: They’ve finally managed to usher Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville off the playing surface, so we’re almost underway!
WEST HAM vs LEICESTER
19:55: Quick reminder of the line-ups for tonight’s clash.
West Ham XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Ogbonna, Reid, Cresswell, Arnautovic, Kouyaté, Obiang, Lanzini, Masuaku, Carroll.
Subs: Adrian, Rice, Noble, Quina, Fernandes, Ayew Sakho.
Leicester XI: Schmeichel, Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Fuchs, Mahrez, Ndidi, Albrighton, Iborra, Gray, Vardy.
Subs: Hamer, Chilwell, Dragovic, King, Okazaki, Slimani, Iheanacho.
MOYES EXPLAINS…
19:53: Asked why he dropped Mark Noble, West Ham boss David Moyes said: “I just wanted to bring in a bit more speed in the wide areas. We want to see if we can get quicker support up to Andy Carroll. Everybody knows their speed on the counter attack. They have really good individuals in Riyad Mahrez, Demarai Gray is playing well as well, and you need to be on red alert for Jamie Vardy.”

Johnson: “Let’s get behind the boys?” Do you not think we have been getting behind them for years. Through thick and thin we’re always getting behind them but maybe it’s about time they started to do what they get paid lot’s of money for and give us something back.
Clare: Let Fat Friday commence… big fat Chinese, big fat stretchy pants (sexy) and a big fat win by the irons!!! (Please)
Reece: There’s nothing that can be said before tonight’s game. They know what needs to be done.
Thanks for letting us know anyway, Reece.

PUEL PLEASED AS PUNCH
19:40: Claude Puel has been encouraged by how the Leicester players have reacted to him since he became manager.
Puel replaced the popular Craig Shakespeare a month ago and the former Southampton boss is pleased with how receptive the squad has been to his methods.
His three matches in charge have seen Puel change Leicester’s formation a couple of times already, including playing Riyad Mahrez in a central role in a 4-2-3-1 line up.
The Frenchman believes the spirit within the camp bodes well for the future as he prepares his team for a trip to West Ham on Friday night.
“I have a good feeling with the players, they listen, they work hard on the pitch and I feel their ambition,” Puel told a press conference. We will see in the next games, with a good adaption and rotation, to see them approach it with a positive attitude.”
NEW SIGN
19:35: David Moyes has really been stamping his mark all over this West Ham side…
The Scotsman has erected (don’t laugh) a new sign in the dressing room that says: “Work Rate, Desire, Communication, Togetherness.”
Done any work on the training pitch, David? Or have you been working mostly on the sign…

Chris: Dread to think what Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez are going to do to our defence tonight.
Andy: What a game in Prospect. Would love to watch it but I think it’s my turn to clean the oven!
Julian: I have a terrible feeling that I may need lobotomising to stop me from the emotional turmoil of tonight’s game. Anyone with a hammer and chisel got a spare 10 minutes?
BEWARE…
19:25: Claude Puel says his Leicester side must be wary of a reaction from West Ham following the appointment of David Moyes.
Not heard many managers worried about that happening, Claude…
“West Ham fans want a reaction. We know this team and they will want to show their qualities at home,” Puel told reporters.
“When a new manager arrives, there is always a possibility for different players to show their qualities and try and win their place. It will be a strong game against them and we have to keep our focus because it will be a crucial game for us.”

TEAM NEWS – WEST HAM
19:10: David Moyes makes one change from the side who were beaten 2-0 by Watford, and it’s a ballsy one!
He’s dropped club skipper Mark Noble in favor of Arthur Masuaku.
I’m not entirely what formation West Ham are playing with two left-backs and Marko Arnautovic on the field – but in Moyes we trust, right?
TEAM NEWS – LEICESTER
19:05: Let’s start with the visitors shall we. Claude Puel has resisted the urge to make any changes to the side who lost to Manchester City last weekend. Simple.
I’m expecting Marc Albrighton to play in his more conventional position down the wing with Demarai Gray on the opposite flank, and Riyad Mahrez operating just behind Jamie Vardy in the No.10 role.

FRIYAY…
18:55: My sincerest apologies for using one of the worst expressions known to man, but Friyay indeed.
I’m growing a fondness for these Friday night fixtures, especially when the weather is bleak outside. That and my social life is abysmal…
Anyway, there’s been three Premier League matches played on a Friday this year and the total number of goals scored is 13!
Fingers crossed we get another three or four-goal thriller this evening. Although I bet David Moyes would love nothing more than a tiresome 1-0 win.
EVENING
18:50: Welcome to our LIVE coverage of West Ham vs Leicester from the London Stadium.
It’s a chilly evening in the capital – a brisk five degrees if you’re asking, and David Moyes will hope those are the ideal conditions for a season transformation.
West Ham have gone five league games without a win, and sit just inside the relegation zone.
So I bet they’re delighted NOT to be facing a revitalised and dangerous counter-attacking side. Oh…
Let’s get going!
