Three England stars named in Euro 2020 team of the tournament as Cristiano Ronaldo snubbed

The Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament has been named, with three England stars featuring following their fantastic performance at the tournament.

However, there is no room for Cristiano Ronaldo despite him breaking several records this summer.

England reached their first major final since 1966 but fell at the final hurdle.

Gareth Southgate’s side took Italy, who are unbeaten in three years, to a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw at Wembley Stadium.

However, missed spot-kicks by Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka handed Italy their first tournament success since 2006.

Luke Shaw thrashed home the opening goal for the Three Lions against the Italians, but the Manchester United full-back fails to make the Team of the Tournament despite his performances.

Instead, his club team-mate Harry Maguire – who scored with a thumping penalty in the shootout defeat – is in the XI.

Maguire did not feature until the final group match due to an ankle injury he suffered while playing for Man Utd but he performed well in his five appearances.

The 28-year-old also scored one of the goals in England’s 4-0 quarter-final victory over Ukraine.

Fellow Three Lions defender Kyle Walker is in the team alongside forward Raheem Sterling, who scored three times during the tournament.
