But talks have continued over a new contract to keep him at the Emirates and an agreement, of at least three years, is now close.

Arsenal believe Taylor-Hart has the potential to be a key player in the future and have managed to persuade him they can provide a pathway to their first-team.

Taylor-Hart, a skilful, tall and two footed attacker who can play on both flanks and through the middle, enjoyed an impressive campaign last term, scoring 11 goals and setting up five more in 30 games for Arsenal’s youth sides.

Mikel Arteta’s first-team travel to Scotland and America during pre-season and Taylor-Hart could now be involved in their tours this month, especially with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli unavailable due to their international exploits.
