Arsenal transfer news: Half of Arsenal team want to leave club – Phil Neville

Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all started the 4-0 horror defeat to Liverpool this afternoon.

All three are out of contract at the end of the season and Neville has hinted at bigger problems behind the scenes at the Emirates.

Appearing as an NBC pundit, Neville said: “I grew up challenging Arsenal as a player for Manchester United and it’s all just a bit sad.

“I saw things on that football pitch that every Arsenal supporter in that away end and watching around the world, must make their blood boil.

“I thought it was a disgraceful performance – lack of effort, quality and no system.

“It’s not about systems and it’s about fight and determination and desire.

“Half of the team don’t want to be here, half of the team have got a year left on their contract and they are looking at other clubs trying to get away.

“They are not committing and don’t want to be here and I think they’ve got a massive, massive problem.”

Arsenal fans chanted ‘we want Wenger out’ from the stands at Anfield and the Arsenal boss admits his side weren’t at the races.

He said: “The result is a consequence of the performance. It was not good enough, we were beaten everywhere physically and in the end we we made it easier for them, we made unneeded mistakes.

“Mentally it was difficult. A very disappointing performance, it was disastrous. But it is not good to become too emotional after the game.

“There are some reasons behind it that we have to analyse but the players now go on an international break. We have done recently well in the big games. That is why today is even more disappointing.”
