Brigitte Macron often wears short dresses by a favourite designer of her’s Louis Vuitton – but today she chose a look more reminiscent of American First Lady Melania Trump

The French First Lady was seen wearing a salmon pink mini dress in Hamburg, Germany in July.

Melania, however, is a fan of wearing smart suit trousers during public appearances, as well as tasteful blouses.

Most recently she wore charcoal grey trousers with a pink jacket by Valentino, with a price tag of £1,760.

The French First Lady and Melania went head to head in the fashion stakes in May, when they both wore black.

Melania met Brigitte, wife of Fresh president Emmanuel Macron while touring the royal residence in Belgium with other NATO wives.

In typical style Brigitte chose a very short dress with a gold belt.

Melania, on the other hand, wore a long, off-the-shoulder dress.

The US First Lady  participated in a 100-year-old tradition last Friday by donating her inaugural ball gown to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

The dress was an off-shoulder number, cream in colour, and featured ruffle detailing from the top to the very bottom.
