Eddie Hearn reveals Anthony Joshua schedule: Deontay Wilder vs Dillian Whyte lined up

Joshua was scheduled to fight Kubrat Pulev to defend his WBA ‘Super’ and IBF heavyweight titles but the Bulgarian pulled out due to injury.

AJ now faces 36-year-old fighter Carlos Takam at the Principality Stadium next weekend.

And promoter Hearn wants Wilder and Whyte to fight for the chance to face Joshua next year, while the Brit could face WBO title holder Joseph Parker in the meantime.

“I think the Wilder fight is one for next summer. I’d like [Wilder] to fight Dillian Whyte. I mean I’ve talked to [Wilder’s] guys again today – and the winner fights Josh,” Hearn told BoxingScene.com.

“[WBO champion Joseph] Parker is a fight we could look at in February or March. But you know we’ve got a WBA mandatory, potentially… I don’t know.

“But I think the main aim is to fight three times next year, and I’d like two of those [fights] to be for additional belts. It doesn’t always work out like that, but the aim is to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.”

Wilder faces Bermane Stiverne in a rematch on November 4 after Luis Ortiz was pulled after failing a drugs test.

Wilder has remained dismissive of a fight with Whyte, who does not see him as a legitimate opponent.

Joshua has not fought since his mega-clash with Wladimir Klitschko in April 2017.
