Police said multiple people were injured at several locations in the heart of Trelleborg, Sweden.
Armed police have rushed to the scene after witnesses reported hearind a loud “bang”.
A police spokesman said: “We have received several reports of a shooting in Trelleborg.
“We were quickly on the spot and found that, within a fairly limited area, we find more people with suspected shot injury.
“We are blocking certain areas and will conduct an investigation.

They said several people were injured at different locations.
The spokesman said: “A major police operation is underway.”
Police said they did not believe there was “a danger to third parties”.
One nearby resident said: “There were many shots. We saw someone running outside. It’s packed with police cars in the street.”
Another said: “I was at home at my computer when I heard a loud bang.”
The condition of the victims is unknown.
Police did not specify whether the suspect was in custody.
Trelleborg is a town of around 40,000 people in the far-south of Sweden.
