Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s Legal Dispute: Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman May Be Subpoenaed
The ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is reportedly escalating, potentially drawing in A-list celebrities. Sources suggest that Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman may soon be subpoenaed in connection with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s conflict with Baldoni, marking a significant development in this high-profile case.
Subpoenas Expected This Week
According to a source speaking with the Daily Mail on Tuesday, Swift and Jackman are expected to receive subpoenas this week related to Lively and Reynolds’ lawsuit against Baldoni. The insider indicated that these famous friends of Lively will “definitely be served this week,” adding a new layer of complexity to the already contentious proceedings.
Timeline of Events
- December: Lively sued Baldoni, accusing him of alleged sexual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign.
- Later: Baldoni countersued Lively and Reynolds for $400 million, alleging defamation, civil extortion, and invasion of privacy.
- March 2026: The trial is currently scheduled.
Taylor Swift’s Alleged Involvement
The informant also claimed that Swift, 35, “has been waiting for a subpoena.” Reps for Lively, Reynolds, Baldoni, Swift, and Jackman have been contacted for comment.
Swift’s name surfaced in Baldoni’s lawsuit against Lively, mentioned twice in the legal documents. Baldoni’s January legal complaint included a purported text conversation where Lively seemingly referred to Swift and Reynolds as her protective “dragons,” akin to Khaleesi in “Game of Thrones.”
Baldoni also alleged that Swift attended a meeting at Lively’s New York City penthouse, where they went over Lively’s rewrite of a rooftop scene in their movie. He further asserted that Lively attempted to leverage her relationship with Swift as a form of intimidation.

Notably, Swift’s song “My Tears Richochet” (2020) was featured in a scene and the trailer for “It Ends With Us.”
Blake Lively and Taylor Swift’s Friendship
“She was with me throughout this whole process, so I think that, for better or worse, she experienced the whole thing with me,” Lively previously said of Swift to CBS Mornings.
Since the legal skirmish with Baldoni began, Swift and Lively have not been seen together publicly. Earlier this month, a source informed Page Six that Lively had apologized to Swift for involving her in the controversy.
- An insider said, “It was important to Blake to be on good terms again with Taylor. It was never her intention to hurt Taylor or cause any harm to their friendship.”
- The source further mentioned that Swift “appreciated” Lively’s apology and “felt it was genuine and heartfelt.”
Hugh Jackman’s Connection to the Case
Jackman, similarly close to Lively and Reynolds, co-starred with Reynolds in “Deadpool and Wolverine”(2024).
Baldoni’s legal team has alleged that the “Deadpool and Wolverine”‘s character, Nicepool, is a parody of Baldoni.
Nicepool sports a man bun, a hairstyle Baldoni maintained for several years until 2023. Additionally, Lively’s character in the film “lights up” Nicepool in front of a florist shop, potentially referencing her “It Ends With Us” character, Lily Bloom, who is a florist.
Potential Deposition for Swift
In February, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, suggested Swift might be called for a deposition to “provide evidence” regarding the case.
“I think that that’s going to be probably a game time decision,” he stated.
Jackman’s Silence
A source previously stated that “it’s unlikely Hugh wasn’t aware” of the alleged Nicepool insult to the Daily Mail.
Like Swift, Jackman has refrained from publicly commenting on Lively and Reynolds’ legal situation with Baldoni.
