The 50-year-old actor broke his silence during an interview with GQ Hype, published on Wednesday.

“I’m protective of the people and the reality of my life,” Harbour stated, after a deliberate pause before addressing his marriage.

Harbour’s Perspective on Tabloid Speculation

He further explained his coping mechanism:

  • Channeling experience into work: “For me, always the best thing that I can do is take all of that experience and pour it into work.”
  • Finding purpose through art: “My experience, no matter how awful or great, will always be useful to someone else if it’s channeled through art.”
  • Staying productive: “I can always be of use. And so that’s what I’m doing.”

The Marriage of Harbour and Allen

Harbour and the British singer, now 39, exchanged vows in 2020 in Las Vegas. The marriage also made Harbour a stepfather to Allen’s two children, Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, from her previous relationship with Sam Cooper.

Timeline of Rumors

  • December: Speculation of a split began when Harbour was reportedly seen on the dating app Raya.

Lily Allen’s Statements

While Allen has not directly addressed the rumors, she has alluded to personal struggles.

On a January episode of her “Miss Me?” podcast, Allen confessed, “I know I’ve been talking about it for months, but I’ve been spiraling and spiraling and spiraling and it’s got out of control.”

Allen’s Focus on Healing

The “Smile” vocalist continued, “I just can’t concentrate on anything except the pain that I’m going through. It’s really, really hard.”

The following month, Allen shared on her podcast that she was in a “stronger place” after undergoing a treatment program.

“I just feel very grateful to have been given the time and the space that I needed,” she stated. “I went into a sort of treatment center for a few weeks, which was great… and I needed some time and space away from everything.” Allen also noted that she’s on “a lifelong journey of healing” and has begun practicing meditation.
