Ariana Biermann recently provided insight into the protracted divorce proceedings of her parents, Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann. The reality star offered an update on what she called a “really long” battle and how her mother is coping amidst the difficulties. Speaking at a public event, Ariana shared details about her mom’s life and her thoughts on the ongoing situation, highlighting the challenges the family faces as they navigate this ongoing separation.
Kim Zolciak “Doing Great” Amid Divorce
“My mom is great. She just relocated to a new residence, and she’s doing well,” Ariana, 23, exclusively revealed to Us Weekly at Us + Maidenform’s Reality Star Style Awards celebration on Tuesday, April 22, at The Highlight Room in New York City. She also expressed that she feels highly protective of her mother during this period.
The Biermann Family Dynamics
- Ariana is one of six children of Zolciak, 46, and Kroy, 39.
- Her siblings include Brielle, 28, KJ, 13, Kash, 12, and twins Kaia and Kane, both 11.
- Kroy adopted Zolciak’s eldest daughters from a previous relationship.
- The couple initially sought a divorce in May 2023.
- They briefly dismissed the petition in July, but Kroy refiled in August 2023.
Ariana’s Perspective on the Lengthy Divorce
“I think it becomes difficult at times. It’s been an incredibly lengthy divorce,” Ariana told Us. “[It’s been] two and a half years, and it’s still far from resolved.”
Support for Her Mother
Ariana described The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum as her “closest confidante globally,” expressing her hope for her mother to continue living her best life after the split.
“I hope she continues to flourish,” Ariana remarked. “She’s been with my stepfather for 13 [or] 14 years now, and I’m just eager for her to simply be a mother. I tell her, ‘It’s also your first time navigating this world, so I’ll sometimes be your mom when you need it.’”
Kim Zolciak Entering the Dating Scene
According to Ariana, Zolciak has also re-entered the dating scene.
“She’s exploring her options, as she should,” the Next Gen NYC personality said on Tuesday. “She’s out there, and she deserves it. I’m like, ‘Don’t get into anything serious yet.’ I also tell her we’re in a completely different landscape than we once were, [and] these people are absolutely wild.”
Ariana’s New Chapter in New York City
Ariana recently departed from her family’s Atlanta residence to start a new life in New York City, which will be documented in Bravo’s forthcoming series, Next Gen NYC.
“I anticipate it will be exciting to witness all of us mature into adulthood. During our mothers’ time on Housewives, we were children,” Ariana commented, referencing her costars Gia Giudice and Riley Burruss, who accompanied her on the red carpet on Tuesday. “Frequently, people still perceive me as 12 years old. They question, ‘Why are you wearing a bikini?’ I respond, ‘I’m 23, OK? I’m genuinely grown up now.’ I believe it will be enjoyable to watch our friendships develop and see us navigate New York. At least for me, I’m new to this locale.”
Making Connections in New York
While Ariana was already acquainted with Gia, 24, and Riley, 22, due to their mothers — Teresa Giudice and Kandi Burruss, respectively — being mainstays in the Housewives franchise, she has also cultivated new relationships since relocating to the Big Apple.
“I admired [costar Emira D’Spain],” Ariana added. “I was like, ‘You’re coming with me.’ She responded, ‘We’re doing this.’ She contacted me and said, ‘You’re moving to New York City. We’re doing this. You’re doing this show with me.’ I thought, ‘New York’s my dream,’ and I replied, ‘We’re doing it.’”
