“We observed many patrons requesting extra bacon or sausage, particularly on Fridays when service industry workers and tradespeople would come in for breakfast before finishing their week. This observation led us to develop the hangover cure breakfast,” Tom explained.

Tom recounted, “It was removed from the menu during my absence while menu modifications were made. Upon my return on a Friday, I noticed a decline in our usual customer base of tradespeople. The breakfast was brought back due to overwhelmingly positive feedback and demand. Following numerous customer comments and requests during its brief removal, we had to reintroduce it.”

We’ve observed individuals of all sizes successfully consuming the entire breakfast in record time, and it remains remarkably popular with a broad spectrum of our clientele. It’s interesting to note that many women also order it, often modifying it by removing carbohydrates like toast or hash browns. A full breakfast, without these items, is effectively low-carb. We’ve noticed a trend, particularly among women who frequent the gym or engage in regular fitness activities, to opt for this breakfast. There’s definitely an increasing trend towards higher protein intake in meals, particularly among gym-goers and those in training, who often choose our hangover cure breakfast to obtain a substantial protein intake for the day in a single meal.”

Fordmore Farm Shop has experienced rapid growth in recent years and now encompasses a thriving café, delicatessen, butchery, bakery, and a newly established fish shop. “The foundational concept behind the farm shop and café was James and my shared belief in the abundance of exceptional produce Devon has to offer, which was, at the time of opening, not readily accessible in this particular area. The opening was not driven by a formal business plan or extensive preparation. We launched it simply to showcase the outstanding quality of Devon produce that we believe is so exceptional,” Tom concluded.
