Vasseur Backs Hamilton Amidst Ferrari Challenges
Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur has strongly defended Lewis Hamilton following the racing icon’s challenging start to his tenure with the Scuderia. Despite acknowledging that early results are unsatisfactory, and anticipating a difficult 2025 season, Hamilton has received unequivocal support from the team leadership.
Team Principal Dismisses Performance Concerns
Vasseur has voiced his confidence in the potential of Ferrari’s Formula 1 car and firmly refuted suggestions that Hamilton’s driving capabilities have diminished. He dismissed such claims as “f***ing bulls***,” offering a robust affirmation of his belief in the seven-time world champion.
Unwavering Support for Hamilton
“I will be 2,000 per cent behind him,” declared the Scuderia boss, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to Hamilton’s success. “I will provide him with complete support, and we will immediately begin the process of identifying solutions and reasons for the current challenges, starting from tomorrow morning. I am genuinely not overly concerned.”
Focus on Car Balance and Tyre Management
Vasseur pointed to Hamilton’s performance in previous races to highlight his inherent talent. “If you consider his performance in China, or in Bahrain the previous week, or even in the initial stages of this weekend’s session, the underlying capability is undeniably present,” Vasseur noted.
He elaborated on the current issues, stating, “We simply need to refine the balance, because collectively, Lewis and ourselves, we are encountering difficulties with the car’s balance and how it interacts with the tyres.”
