Eva Longoria Discusses European Relocation and Pays Tribute to Pope Francis
Actress Eva Longoria recently appeared on Live With Kelly and Mark, where she spoke about her move to Europe and her new CNN series, Searching for Spain. The television personality also shared a heartfelt remembrance of Pope Francis following his passing, recalling a personal encounter with the pontiff.
Longoria Embraces Spanish Life in Andalucía
The Searching for Spain host, age 50, is dividing her time between Spain and Mexico with her husband, José Bastón, and their young son. Longoria, originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, and of Spanish descent, expressed her affinity for the Andalucía region of Spain.
She elaborated on her appreciation for the area’s chiringuitos – small beachfront establishments serving tapas and beverages. “I know that region the best because I’ve been visiting there for two decades,” the performer told the morning show presenters.
Remembrance of Pope Francis
The former Desperate Housewives star also reflected on the passing of Pope Francis, whom she honored online. She recounted a memorable experience meeting him shortly before her wedding to José in 2016.
“I was incredibly fortunate to meet him. He actually blessed Pepe and I just before we got married,” she remembered, using her husband’s nickname.

Eva Longoria is currently promoting her upcoming Searching for Spain series, scheduled to premiere on CNN on April 27th.
The program will document her culinary exploration through cities such as Madrid, San Sebastian, Barcelona, and Seville, where she delves into her connection to the country and reveals cherished locations that have made it a “personal favorite.”
In a preview trailer released in February, Eva shared that her ancestors departed Spain four centuries ago.
“Eleven generations ago, one of my ancestors left Spain for the new world and a new life,” she stated.
“Four hundred years later, I’m back to discover how the land and its people have cultivated one of the world’s most captivating cuisines,” the actress previewed.
