Nintendo Amiibo Prices Rise at Major US Retailers

Gamers looking forward to new Nintendo amiibo may encounter increased costs, as product prices have recently risen at major retailers across the United States. Walmart, GameStop, and Best Buy have all adjusted their pricing for upcoming amiibo figures, impacting anticipated releases for both Street Fighter 6 and The Legend of Zelda series.

Price Hikes Impact Street Fighter and Zelda Amiibo

Specifically, the price of Street Fighter 6 amiibo, which include characters like Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly, has increased from $29.99 to $39.99 at these retail locations. Similarly, the recently announced Legend of Zelda amiibo, featuring Riju, Sidon, Yunobo, and Tulin, have seen a price jump from $19.99 to $29.99.

  • Street Fighter 6 Amiibo: Increased to $39.99 (formerly $29.99)
  • Legend of Zelda Amiibo: Increased to $29.99 (formerly $19.99)

Price Adjustments Extend Beyond Standalone Amiibo

These price changes for amiibo come amidst broader adjustments to Nintendo product pricing. While Nintendo previously stated there would be no price increase for the upcoming $449.99 console, the cost of accessories for the new system has evidently been revised upwards. Reports indicate that the Switch 2 Joy-Con, Pro Controller, and camera also experienced price increases last week.

Retailers Implement Price Changes at Different Times

Initial reports of amiibo price changes surfaced among users observing updates at GameStop. Subsequently, Walmart and Best Buy appear to have implemented similar price adjustments, with changes becoming evident on Monday.

Nintendo’s Response Awaited

As of yet, Nintendo has not publicly addressed these price increases. The Verge reportedly contacted Nintendo seeking further clarification on the matter, but has not yet received a response.
