This campaign aims to encourage 360,000 football fans to learn CPR using the BHF’s accessible online tool, RevivR. The British Heart Foundation also recommends asking a bystander to locate a defibrillator.
The charity advises initiating chest compressions: ‘Position the heel of your hand in the chest’s center and press down rhythmically and firmly at a rate of approximately two compressions per second.’ They suggest maintaining the rhythm of ‘Stayin’ Alive’ by the Bee Gees as a guide. ‘Utilize a defibrillator as soon as available and meticulously follow its instructions while continuing CPR.’
David concluded, ‘CPR is what saved me that night. It is absolutely crucial that more individuals learn CPR, offering a better chance for people like myself. Now, I worry significantly less about trivial matters, realizing I am fortunate to be alive. Every moment is precious. It took considerable time to reconcile with this perspective, but that is my current understanding.’
