In a candid post on Monday, Carol Challis, widow of the celebrated actor who portrayed Boycie, shared details of her planned farewell ceremony, expressing relief at having finalized these arrangements.

Mrs. Challis, who married John Challis in 1995 and frequently shares touching tributes to her late husband, who passed away in 2021 at the age of 79, revealed her plans to her 133,000 followers.
In her post, she stated: “Oh joy! I’ve just organised my funeral. I’m making my entrance to Whiter Shade of Pale and my exit to Dancing Queen. Thank God that’s out of the way. Next…..”

In 2020, John Challis produced the documentary “Boycie in Belgrade,” exploring the immense popularity of Only Fools and Horses in Serbia. This popularity culminated in him being granted honorary citizenship as the Freeman of Belgrade.

John Challis’s Passing
Prior to his death, John Challis had to cancel his “Only Fools and Boycie” show tour due to declining health.
In September 2021, a family statement announced his passing: “It is with heavy hearts that we bring you such sad news. Our dear friend and yours, John Challis, has died peacefully in his sleep, after a long battle with cancer.”
