Radio 1 DJ and Morning Live presenter Katie Thistleton has disclosed that she underwent emergency surgery just six weeks after giving birth to her son. The 35-year-old broadcaster, who recently welcomed her son Reuben, experienced severe pain shortly after his arrival, necessitating an urgent operation.

In a detailed social media statement, Thistleton informed her followers of her emergency hospital visit. She explained that doctors discovered a substantial cyst on her ovary, measuring 16cm, which had caused a painful twisting of the ovary and fallopian tube.

She recounted to her fans: “So I’m 6 weeks postpartum today and was so excited to be officially recovered from c section and drive again etc but ended up having emergency surgery on my ovary a couple of days ago for a 16cm (huge) cyst that had twisted the ovary and tube.”

“Guys when I tell you the pain was insane, if they’d offered to shoot me in the head I’d have taken it. Luckily they managed to save the ovary after thinking it might need to go.”
