The guards, identified in local media as Non, 36, and Nik, 37, acknowledged their involvement in the video. They stated they reacted after escorting the intoxicated tourist out of the bar premises.
According to reports, the guards claimed to have initially attempted to de-escalate the situation before one of them reacted physically. They reportedly expressed regret at not exercising greater restraint. “We initially tried to escort him out of the premises,” one guard reportedly told Thai media. “The manager even attempted to calm him down, but he refused to listen and continued to provoke other tourists.”
