Beyond his widely viewed dance content, Vancouver native Orlando Lucas has cultivated a successful acting career since the age of eight. He notably played Ryan Ingram in Netflix’s The Unforgivable (2021), alongside acclaimed actors Viola Davis and Vincent D’Onofrio, and attended the film’s Hollywood premiere. His acting credits also include roles in series such as Altered Carbon, iZombie, Big Sky River, and Zoo, and a guest appearance in The Good Doctor.
Lucas has further broadened his acting portfolio with voice roles in animated series, including StarBeam, The Hollow, and Powerbirds.

For five years (2019-2024), Lucas honed his skills with Vancouver’s Fresh Groove Productions under the tutelage of Mark Dogillo and Travis Lim. His dedication culminated in twice reaching the finals at Hip Hop International, securing a bronze medal in 2022 and fifth place globally in 2023. In 2020, demonstrating his versatility, he performed as a backup dancer for Capri Everitt at Showtime at the Apollo in New York.

IDCO is poised to represent New Zealand at the World Dance Crew Championship Finals in Auckland this month. “Dance is integral to my identity,” Lucas stated. His engagement with IDCO and global performances have facilitated training with accomplished dancers and choreographers such as Riley Bourne, Kirsten Dodgen, and Joshua Cesan. Lucas now aims to impart his acquired knowledge to aspiring dancers, both through social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, and via his close-knit dance team.
Recently, Lucas established his own nine-member dance ensemble, Crew 24, which clinched Gold at the Pacific Qualifiers and is advancing to the World Dance Crew Championship Finals in Auckland. He also acts as a dance ambassador for Shluv Academy, an online dance education platform, alongside Michael Le. His original choreographies on TikTok have achieved widespread recognition, with millions of dancers recreating and sharing his moves.
As the World Dance Crew Championships approach, Orlando Lucas and Crew 24 are preparing to compete, representing both Canada and New Zealand in this prestigious global event.
