Eddie Shed, a 39-year-old father and deacon at Empowerment Ministries Christian Center in Gulfport, was killed as he protected two individuals attempting to de-escalate a domestic dispute. According to the Gulfport Police Department, 24-year-old Tyran Deion Gable allegedly initiated the shooting.

“He died a hero, embodying his life’s purpose of protection, love, and care for everyone,” expressed church member Alexis Weathersby to WLOX news outlet. “He was a truly remarkable man, always ready to assist anyone in need.”
