Rugby League Reporter in Awkward Sideline Encounter at Brookvale Oval
A rugby league reporter found himself in an uncomfortable situation at Brookvale Oval, amidst a group of cheerleaders, during a pre-match segment. The incident occurred before Manly Warringah Sea Eagles secured a victory against Parramatta Eels last weekend, generating online buzz and commentary.
On-Air Gaffe Captured on Camera
Jake Duke, a Fox Sports presenter, was preparing for a live broadcast from the sidelines ahead of the Manly vs Parramatta National Rugby League (NRL) game. Unbeknownst to Duke initially, cameras captured him glancing towards a group of cheerleaders performing on the field.
Bryan Fletcher’s Humorous Reaction
Former rugby league player and commentator Bryan Fletcher playfully called out Duke’s on-camera moment during Fox League’s “Late Show.” Fletcher’s lighthearted ribbing added to the online amusement surrounding the incident.

“So he’s there having a look, and he gets caught! He gets caught!” Fletcher joked on air, highlighting the comedic timing of the camera catching Duke’s glance.
Fox League further amplified the moment by posting the clip on Instagram with the caption: “Busted,” increasing the visibility of the humorous event.

Relationship History Recalled
The sideline incident also surfaced in the context of Duke’s previous public breakup with Channel 7 personality Grace Fitzgibbon in February. This personal detail added another layer of public interest to the reporter’s on-air moment.
Following the split with Fitzgibbon, it was reported that Duke took some time away from broadcasting duties. The breakup reportedly stemmed from a late-night phone communication between freelance journalist Tiffany Salmond and Duke.
Sources indicate that a call during the early hours of the morning in February 2024 created a disruption in Duke and Fitzgibbon’s three-year relationship, leading to their separation.
Fitzgibbon seemingly alluded to the separation on social media by posting an image featuring cardboard boxes. Salmond reportedly claimed unawareness of Duke’s committed relationship at the time of the phone call.

Salmond also posted an image on Instagram, later deleted, featuring a bikini and a caption referencing Ariana Grande’s song, seemingly alluding to the situation.
Fitzgibbon reportedly experienced heartbreak following the early morning phone call incident. However, reports emerged last year of her finding new romance with a man named Az.
Finding Love Amidst Grief
Fitzgibbon’s relationship with Az developed after the tragic passing of her brother, Jack Fitzgibbon, a Special Forces operative, in a parachuting accident last year.
A source close to Fitzgibbon revealed, “(Grace and Az) have known each other for a long time – he was a close friend of Jack’s and served as a pallbearer at his funeral.”
The source further added, “They’ve connected through shared grief, and he brings genuine happiness back into Grace’s life, which is wonderful to see.”
