The circumstances surrounding the death of actor Nicky Katt have been officially determined. Authorities have confirmed that the “Dazed and Confused” star died by suicide at his residence in California, according to a TMZ report released Monday.
Landlord Discovers Body After Rent Check
Law enforcement sources revealed to the outlet that Katt’s landlord discovered the 54-year-old actor’s body inside his Los Angeles apartment on April 8. Reports indicate the body was found hanging.
Approximately one week prior to the discovery, the building manager had visited Katt to remind him about overdue rent.
Upon returning five days later to collect the payment, sources stated the landlord found the “Boiler Room” performer’s apartment door ajar and subsequently located him in his bedroom.
Authorities believe Katt, who reportedly did not leave a suicide note, had been deceased for more than 24 hours before his body was found.

Following the emergence of news regarding the “Boston Public” actor’s death on Saturday, numerous colleagues and admirers in the entertainment industry utilized social media to express their condolences and honor his memory.
Director Robert Rodriguez, who cast Katt in the 2007 film “Planet Terror,” shared a tribute on Instagram, stating he could “always rely on” the late actor for “numerous qualities.”
Rodriguez, 56, elaborated on Katt’s professionalism and creativity: “He would arrive exceptionally prepared for each role, complete with costumes and props. He consistently brought inventive and imaginative concepts that made his characters leap off the screen and reliably elicit uproarious laughter from audiences.”
