Police reports indicate that emergency services were dispatched to a property in Windellama, situated south of Goulburn, NSW, at approximately 11:20 am on Sunday. Authorities were alerted to a reported shooting incident at the location.
Officers from the Hume Police District arrived at the property and were informed that a nine-year-old boy had sustained injuries due to the unintentional discharge of a firearm.
According to a police spokesperson, NSW Ambulance paramedics provided medical assistance to the child for critical neck injuries. Despite their efforts, the boy succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation and Arrests
In the wake of the fatal shooting, police established a dedicated strike force to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Subsequently, a 14-year-old male and a 33-year-old male were taken into custody.
