Mickey Rourke Removed from “Celebrity Big Brother UK” After Aggressive Behavior and Homophobic Comments
Controversial actor Mickey Rourke has been ejected from the “Celebrity Big Brother UK” house following accusations of threatening conduct and homophobic remarks directed towards fellow contestant JoJo Siwa. The former boxer’s departure from the reality show comes just days after his disparaging comments sparked outrage and calls for his removal. ITV, the network airing “Celebrity Big Brother UK,” confirmed Rourke’s exit, citing further instances of unacceptable behavior.
Sudden Exit Due to “Unacceptable Behavior”
On Saturday evening, representatives for the ITV program issued a statement announcing that the “Wrestler” star “agreed to leave” the premises. This decision followed what the network described as “further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behavior.”
Rourke’s exit follows a specific altercation triggered when “Love Island” personality Chris Hughes reportedly gave the actor a sideways glance. This incident occurred while housemates were participating in a pirate-themed challenge.
Details of the Confrontation
According to an insider speaking to The US Sun, Rourke perceived Hughes’ look as disrespectful. The source stated Rourke “didn’t like Chris disrespecting him with the side eye and went for him with loads of smack talk.”
The source further clarified, “On this occasion, it was offensive, threatening and aggressive. However it didn’t get physical and security nor producers did not need to intervene.”

Financial Repercussions for Rourke
The US Sun also reported that ITV executives have reportedly withheld a significant portion of Rourke’s £500,000 (approximately $654,100) appearance fee due to his repeated breaches of conduct within the house.
“Mickey won’t be receiving all his money from ITV,” a source revealed to the publication.
“If a celebrity gets removed from the house, they don’t get the full fee. It’s as simple as that and they will be discussing that with him.”
The source added, “Mickey was ready to leave the house and it ended up feeling like a mutual decision between him and ITV in the end. It was getting too much.”
Page Six has contacted ITV for an official statement but has not yet received a response.
Homophobic Outbursts Preceded Removal
Rourke’s removal was preceded by controversy stemming from “homophobic” remarks directed at fellow housemate JoJo Siwa. These occurred during a recent episode of “Celebrity Big Brother UK.”
Last week, the 72-year-old actor faced intense criticism for his verbal attacks on Siwa, 21. The “9½ Weeks” performer questioned the “Karma” singer about her sexual orientation during a Wednesday broadcast.
Rourke’s Questioning of Siwa’s Sexuality
“Do you like girls or boys?” Rourke inquired directly.
“Me? Girls. My partner is non-binary,” Siwa responded, referencing her partner, Kath Ebbs.
Rourke then implied he could alter Siwa’s sexual preference during their time together on the reality series. “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore,” he asserted to the pop star.
Siwa quickly retorted, “I can guarantee I’ll still be gay and I’ll still be in a very happy relationship.”
Later in the same episode, Rourke stated his intention to “vote the lesbian out real quick,” prompting Siwa to respond, “That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning.”
Official Warning Issued Before Ejection
Following these comments, “Big Brother” producers summoned Rourke to the Diary Room and issued a formal warning.
“Removed” for Future Misconduct
The “Iron Man 2” actor was explicitly informed that he would be “removed” from the “Big Brother” house should he engage in “further language or behavior of this nature.”
Rourke subsequently apologized for his conduct, stating he harbored no “dishonorable intentions” and was “just talking smack.” Despite this apology, the recent altercation ultimately led to his departure from the show.
