Teddi Mellencamp Finds Support in Bravo Star Jesse Solomon Amid Cancer Diagnosis

Reality television personality Teddi Mellencamp has found a source of support in fellow Bravo figure Jesse Solomon as she navigates her cancer journey. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared that she has been in communication with the Summer House cast member, who is a two-time cancer survivor, for guidance and advice.

Solomon Offers Insight on Cancer Treatment Experience

On the April 8 episode of the “Two T’s in a Pod” podcast, which Mellencamp co-hosts with Tamra Judge, she revealed, “Guess who I’ve been messaging back-and-forth with about cancer? Jesse Solomon.” Mellencamp, 43, added, “He’s actually given me a lot of beneficial advice.”

Solomon, 31, openly discussed his personal history as a two-time testicular cancer survivor on a 2024 episode of Summer House, marking his debut in season 8 of the program.

Navigating Treatment and Daily Life

Mellencamp detailed the nature of their conversations, explaining, “What I asked him was, ‘During the times you were undergoing treatment and not feeling well, did you primarily rest in bed, or did you try to remain active? This is where I’m currently struggling.’”

She continued, recounting Solomon’s advice: “He said, ‘Each day was entirely unpredictable. I would make plans and then be unable to fulfill them. However, there were occasions when I felt well enough to go out and engage in normal activities. On the days I didn’t feel up to it, I simply rested.’”

Doctor’s Advice and Mellencamp’s Perspective

Mellencamp, who publicly announced in February that she was undergoing surgery for multiple brain tumors, mentioned that medical professionals have advised her that “engaging in activities that make you feel best will contribute to a faster recovery.”

“Because you’re responding to your body’s needs,” Mellencamp concluded, adding, “Regardless, it was very thoughtful of him to reach out to me.”

Openness About Cancer Journey

Since disclosing her cancer diagnosis in February, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills personality has been transparent about her health challenges. “I’m fighting for my life,” she stated in a recent cover story. “But also for my family’s life and all the people I cherish.”

Family Support During Health Battle

Amidst dealing with her diagnosis, Teddi revealed that her father, John Mellencamp, contacts her “daily” to offer support and check on her. “Some days, I’m not in the right frame of mind; I don’t want a pep talk. [I tell him], ‘I’ll speak with you tomorrow; I’ll be more receptive to a pep talk then, but I love you,’” she shared.

Discussions About End-of-Life Arrangements

Teddi recently recounted an instance where her father urgently contacted her repeatedly to inquire about her final wishes. “Finally, I answered, saying, ‘I’m in the bath. Let me live a little,’” Teddi recounted on her podcast episode with Judge. “He said, ‘I just want to confirm that you will be placed in our family mausoleum.’”

Planning for the Future

Teddi, who has three children with her husband Edwin Arroyave, expressed uncertainty about where her children would be accommodated in the mausoleum. (Arroyave, 47, also has an older daughter, Isabella, from a previous relationship.)

“He’s like, ‘Well, there will be the primary five spaces, and then we’re going to have smaller areas surrounding it, and that’s where everyone else will be interred.’ He adds, ‘You’re preparing your will presently, so you might as well include it,’” she recalled, noting her eventual agreement. “I’m going to have to work on my sister next week. The children will follow behind me.”
