Path of Exile 2: Grinding Gear Games Releases New Update Addressing Player Feedback

Path of Exile 2 developer Grinding Gear Games (GGG) has announced a fresh update this week, following closely on the heels of the free Dawn of the Hunt content launch. This new patch, designed for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms, implements adjustments based on player feedback received since the recent content release. GGG has detailed the upcoming changes in a recent blog post, stating the update will roll out over the next few days.

Key Improvements in the New Patch

The forthcoming update primarily aims to enhance the effectiveness of various character classes, in-game items, and player abilities. Patch notes reveal specific boosts for classes such as the Sorceress, Huntress, and Warrior, alongside adjustments to crafting mechanics and monster behavior.

Notably, modifications to monster speed are intended to mitigate instances where players are overwhelmed by excessive enemy numbers. Furthermore, the update will increase the visibility of Rare monsters, ensuring they are consistently displayed on the minimap, preventing players from missing valuable encounters hidden in map corners.

Delirium encounters will also be extended, lasting approximately 2.5 times longer after this update. Players can review the preliminary patch notes below, with GGG indicating that further gameplay tweaks and bug fixes will be incorporated before the update’s full release later this week.

Stay tuned for updates. This article will be refreshed with specific timings from Grinding Gear Games as soon as they are officially announced.

Initially designed to prevent charge consumption while boosting supported skill damage by 4% per charge type, the damage increase feature will not be included in the initial release due to development timeline constraints. The core functionality of charge prevention remains a key element of this gem.

Delirium Encounter Duration Increase

As previously mentioned, Delirium encounters will now last approximately 2.5 times longer, providing extended engagement.

Crafting System Updates

Artificer’s Orbs and Runes:

  • Artificer’s Orbs: More Artificer’s Orbs have been placed in fixed locations throughout the campaign to facilitate more frequent crafting opportunities.
  • Attribute Runes: Runes for attributes have been added to address early game requirement issues.
  • Wand and Staff Runes: All runes are being updated to apply to Wands and Staves, requiring specific mod additions for these item types. Implementation for Soul Cores and Talismans is under consideration but may not be included in the initial update.

Improved Rare Monster Visibility

Addressing issues with players missing Rare monsters in endgame maps, Rares will now be consistently visible on the minimap, ensuring no valuable encounters are missed.

Matlan Waterways Map Adjustment

The Matlan Waterways map has been adjusted to merge water sections, reducing the average number of levers encountered by 6 per playthrough.

Monster Speed Re-evaluation

Complaints regarding being overwhelmed by monster swarms are being addressed. An ongoing review of monster speed is underway, with targeted changes expected for specific overly challenging monsters, particularly in zones populated with fast-moving enemies. Specific changes will be detailed imminently.
