Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash in Heated Sofa Spat on BBC Reality Show
Television personalities Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash experienced a dispute in the latest episode of their BBC reality series, Stacey and Joe. The celebrity couple, raising five children, clashed via telephone after Swash permitted their children to eat baked beans on the sofa. The argument centred on concerns about potential furniture stains, but reportedly escalated when Swash expected Solomon to apologise.
Baked Beans Become Bone of Contention
Solomon expressed her frustration, stating, “Wow. The disagreement started because I returned home and intended to tidy the living room, finding it in a terrible state with baked beans smeared all over my sofa!” She recounted discovering “about 10 baked beans” on the couch. However, Swash defended his actions, retorting, “I’m not like you! You act as if you’ve never allowed the children to eat in the living room, which would be untrue!”
Parenting Styles Clash
Swash continued, “Your response to me giving the kids beans on toast on the sofa is an overreaction. You’re out of order, Stacey. I spent the day caring for the children and preparing their lunch.” Solomon countered that such actions are simply “normal parenting duties”.
Tensions Rise During Filming
At the time of the incident, Swash was away from their family home, Pickle Cottage, filming another television program and staying in a hotel. The disagreement culminated in a tense moment, with Swash abruptly ending the call by telling his wife to “have a lovely evening”. An emotional Solomon then confided in a direct-to-camera segment, describing the baked beans incident as “just the final straw”.

Arguments are Part of Real Life
The couple previously told OK! Magazine, “Many individuals portray an overly perfect image of their lives on Instagram. We believe it’s our responsibility to show the reality – both the highs and the lows. Life isn’t always easy, and disagreements happen.”
Unfiltered Look at Relationship
They added, “What you see is what you get. We’ve realised about each other that we’re not a perfect couple. We’ve never claimed to be perfect, but you get to observe yourselves on screen, which is a rare occurrence.”
