Lehmann, formerly of Aston Villa, West Ham, and Everton in the Women’s Super League, has recently been in England as a coach in the Baller League, alongside Maya Jama. This six-a-side tournament, featuring ex-footballers and social media personalities, is broadcast on Sky Sports and YouTube.
Having participated in the German Baller League in 2023, Lehmann aims to secure a place in Switzerland’s Euros squad. However, her aspirations face challenges due to a recent thigh injury, which also sidelined her during the February international break.
Switzerland Manager Comments on Lehmann’s Euro Chances
Switzerland’s coach, Pia Sundhage, acknowledged Lehmann’s situation, stating that a return to the squad is possible, but her injury has complicated matters. With the Euros approaching in Switzerland, her inclusion is uncertain.
“We aim to assemble the best possible team,” Sundhage explained. “The door remains open for everyone, offering a chance to all players.”
Regarding Lehmann’s absence, Sundhage clarified, “She was injured and has lacked consistent playtime for Juventus. She requires time to demonstrate her place within the team.”
Euro 2025 and Lehmann’s Squad Ambitions
Switzerland is positioned in Group A for Euro 2025, facing Norway, Finland, and Iceland. Their opening match is against Norway on July 2nd, and Lehmann’s participation in the squad is not guaranteed.

However, Lehmann has accumulated only 702 minutes across all competitions, scoring twice for Juventus. Douglas Luiz has also encountered challenges in his first season with the men’s team, with no goals in 22 appearances.
Luiz has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, and Juventus recently replaced their manager Thiago Motta with Igor Tudor after a dip in Serie A standings.
