Kitty Scott-Claus Runs London Marathon in Memory of The Vivienne

Celebrity MasterChef contestant and drag artist, Kitty Scott-Claus, has revealed the touching final communication received from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner, The Vivienne, in the weeks preceding their untimely passing. James Lee Williams, widely known as The Vivienne, who secured victory in the inaugural UK season of the acclaimed reality competition in 2019 and made a cameo appearance in the BBC series ‘This Is Going To Hurt’, tragically died in January at the age of 32. In a tribute to their friend, Kitty Scott-Claus is undertaking the London Marathon to raise funds for charities The Vivienne passionately supported.

Fundraising in Vivienne’s Honour

Speaking exclusively to Express Online, Kitty Scott-Claus discussed participating in the London Marathon 2025 to gather donations for Sahir House, an organisation for which The Vivienne served as a dedicated patron.

“Our aim is to collect £50,000, which will be divided equally between Pancreatic Cancer UK, the official sponsor of the London Marathon, and Sahir House, a remarkable charity based in Liverpool that was close to Vivienne’s heart as their patron. We have also selected London Friend Antidote and Switchboard LGBT+ Helpline as beneficiaries,” Kitty explained, highlighting the breadth of the fundraising initiative.

Remembering a “Superstar”

Reflecting on their professional relationship, Kitty fondly recalled collaborations with The Vivienne. “The Drag Race community in the UK truly embodies a sisterhood. Regardless of the circumstances, Viv consistently offered encouragement, sent messages of support, and simply embodied the most kind and supportive person. They were an absolute superstar and are profoundly missed,” Kitty stated, emphasizing the strong bonds within the drag community and The Vivienne’s impactful presence.

Poignant Final Message

Detailing their last interaction, Kitty shared, “The final time we communicated, I had recently posted fitness updates [on Instagram]. Vivienne sent the most heartwarming message, expressing, ‘You’ve achieved it, well done, I am so proud of you. You look amazing.’ Looking back at that message now is incredibly poignant. It truly reflects their character – an absolute rock of support and encouragement.”

Upcoming Races and How to Support

In addition to the London Marathon, Kitty is also scheduled to compete in the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday, April 6th. This event will see 20,000 participants traverse a scenic 13.1-mile course through central London, taking in 16 of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
