The Mexican actor’s manager, Jaime Jaramillo Espinosa, shared details with the Los Angeles Times regarding the health scare. Masalva arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on March 18, following a trip to the Philippines. Shortly after arriving in Dubai, approximately two days later, he reportedly began experiencing internal discomfort and escalating pain.
Rapid Deterioration and Emergency Intervention
According to his manager, medical professionals diagnosed Masalva with a bacterial infection. The actor, based on his Instagram posts, had been in the Philippines as recently as March 14. He underwent emergency surgery on March 26. The situation worsened the following day when the infection spread to his lungs, necessitating a medically induced coma, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

Doctors have successfully identified the specific strain of bacteria and are administering appropriate antibiotic treatments, Masalva’s manager stated.
