Kristin Cavallari Offers Glimpse into Single Mom Life Amidst Son’s Travel Sports
Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari, known for “The Hills” and “Very Cavallari,” recently provided fans with a glimpse into her experiences as a single mother. In a heartfelt social media post, the 38-year-old shared a moment with her son, Jaxon, while supporting his participation in travel sports. The post resonated with parents navigating the demanding schedules of youth sports while balancing family life.
Balancing Travel Sports and Family Time
Cavallari posted a photo of herself and Jaxon, who is involved in competitive travel sports, cuddled together. The caption accompanying the image read, “Travel sports aren’t for the weak. It’s my bedtime and we haven’t even started,” capturing the late nights and demanding schedules associated with youth sports leagues.
The actress of “The League” has become more open to featuring her children in her social media posts. This comes after a recent video shared with her daughter Saylor, nine, signaling a shift in her approach to sharing her family life with the public.
Cavallari shares Saylor, Jaxon, and her eldest son Camden, 12, with her former husband, ex-NFL player Jay Cutler, 41.
Past Relationships and Forthcoming Reality Series
The founder of Uncommon James also made headlines recently when she disclosed a past “deep fling” with NHL veteran and Boston Bruins player Nate Thompson, 40. This revelation came during her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast on April 1st. Cavallari had initially kept the identity of her former flame private but confirmed it after online speculation.
She described their relationship as primarily ‘long distance,’ relying on ‘voice notes, FaceTime calls, phone calls, texting’ for communication.
Children to Feature in New Reality Show
In an earlier podcast episode on March 25th, Cavallari announced that all of her children will be part of her new reality series, “Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour.” This marks a significant change from her previous show, “Very Cavallari,” where her children were intentionally kept off-camera.
Cavallari shared details about filming her daily routine with her children. She explained that filming starts early, around 6 am, to capture their typical morning routine, including making breakfast, packing lunches, and going to school. Filming continues at home after school, with her children naturally interacting on camera.
Embracing a More Authentic Reality
The former star of “The Hills” emphasized her excitement for viewers to witness the normalcy of her life. She noted her initial nervousness about filming with her children but was reassured by their natural and genuine behavior on camera. “I was really nervous the first few times I filmed…but my kids were so cute and just themselves, and it was really sweet to see,” she told listeners.
While keen on including her children, Cavallari remains mindful of protecting them from excessive exposure.
Learning from the Past: Including Family in Reality TV
The seasoned reality television personality expressed that not including her children in “Very Cavallari” was a misstep. She elaborated, “My kids are the biggest part of my life and them not being on Very Cavallari really did a disservice to myself.”
She further explained that excluding a significant aspect of her life led to “forcing storylines” to compensate for the absence of her children in “Very Cavallari.”
“Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour” is set to premiere on Thursday, June 5th, on E!, offering viewers a more inclusive look into Cavallari’s life as a working single mother.
