Details of the Incident
The man was reportedly commuting home from his workplace in Orihuela Costa when the accident took place. While riding his scooter along Baikal Street, he allegedly encountered a pothole, causing him to lose control and be thrown over the handlebars.

Orihuela Costa: A Popular Expat and Tourist Destination
Orihuela Costa is a well-regarded coastal area within the Alicante province, famed for its picturesque beaches, secluded coves, and lively atmosphere. It is a favored destination for both British expatriates and tourists alike.
Electric scooters are a common mode of transport for many Orihuela residents, particularly given the considerable distances between residential zones and key tourist attractions in the town.
Recent Tragedies Involving British Nationals
This unfortunate incident follows closely after another tragedy involving a British family in New York. Last Saturday, a British-born woman and her two young daughters were killed in Brooklyn when a vehicle struck them as they were crossing a street.
Natasha Saada, 34, originally from Mill Hill, North London, along with her daughters Diana, eight, and Deborah, five, were fatally injured in the Brooklyn accident. The family were members of the Orthodox Jewish community and were walking home from synagogue when the incident occurred at approximately 1 pm.
Tragically, all three individuals were declared dead at the site of the collision. The family’s four-year-old son sustained critical injuries in the same event.
The driver of the vehicle, Miriam Yarimi, 32, the owner of a wig business, was allegedly driving an Audi sedan. Reports indicate her car collided with a Toyota Camry Uber vehicle before hitting the family. The Audi then overturned in what witnesses described as horrific scenes on Ocean Parkway in Midwood.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) informed DailyMail.com on Sunday that Yarimi, a Midwood resident, faces multiple charges, including three counts of second-degree manslaughter.
Yarimi is also accused of three counts of criminally negligent homicide, four counts of second-degree assault, reckless driving, and speeding. It is alleged that she was driving with a suspended license at the time of the incident.
The deceased family members were laid to rest in Jerusalem, Israel, on Monday night.
In another separate event, a 73-year-old holidaymaker died in a jet ski accident last month on a private island in the Bahamas.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force confirmed that the unnamed woman died on March 22 while visiting RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay.
According to investigators, she was riding a jet ski and reportedly ‘lost control’, subsequently colliding with a rock.
Despite receiving immediate medical attention, she was pronounced dead at the scene by a local physician. Bahamian authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this incident.
The victim, holding dual British-Czechoslovakia nationality, was a passenger on the Holland America cruise ship Nieuw Amsterdam.
