Interestingly, Wilson herself referenced “The Hunger Games” when she came out as transgender in 2020. Announcing her gender identity online before informing her mother, she playfully asked her followers on Instagram Stories, “Are you Team Peeta or are you Team Gale?” referencing the love interests of Katniss Everdeen. In a recent interview with Teen Vogue, Wilson reflected on this period, stating, “This was in the middle of my Hunger Games [phase] that lasted, like, eight years —like four years after the movies came out,” she explained. “I was cringe. I have never not been cringe.”
Despite her past “cringe” phase, Wilson, who graced the cover of the magazine, shared her current entertainment interests, revealing a fondness for reality television. She expressed, “It is my absolute dream to be on a reality show, which I know is absolutely pathetic. As an overdramatic little queer, reality shows are something I adore beyond belief,” she said with a laugh, indicating a desire to potentially star in the genre.
Financial Independence and Future Ventures
Wilson disclosed that she has been financially independent from her billionaire father since her transition in 2020. Currently residing abroad and studying languages, she navigates life apart from Musk’s financial support. However, she mentioned past instances of receiving Venmo requests for substantial sums due to her father’s immense wealth and public profile.
With her growing public recognition, Wilson is contemplating various opportunities, including launching a Twitch streaming channel and exploring modeling possibilities. She acknowledged, “I haven’t made any money from being famous at all. I have made zero dollars and zero cents. I do live in a lot of people’s heads rent-free, though.” Regarding Twitch, she added, “I feel like Twitch streaming would be so much fun…. I don’t feel like the world needs another Twitch streamer, but [I’d] love to do it.”

Reflecting on her journey of self-discovery, Wilson recalled the challenging period leading up to her realization of being transgender. “I was constantly having mental breakdowns” in school, she revealed. “I just wanted to rot, pretty much. It was like, I cannot do this anymore. If I stay in the closet anymore, this is going to take me down a very destructive path.”
Two days after this realization, Wilson publicly came out on Instagram before informing her mother, Justine Wilson, a decision she now regrets. While noting her mother’s support, Wilson stated that she had not been in contact with Musk for months leading up to her coming out and that his reaction was not supportive.

Describing her social media habits, she playfully called herself “the Queen of Threads,” referencing the platform seen as a rival to X, formerly Twitter, which is owned by Meta, led by Mark Zuckerberg.
When questioned about her relationships with her siblings and half-siblings – given Musk’s large family of at least 13 children with multiple partners – Wilson responded, “That’s a question. I will say I do not actually know how many siblings I have, if you include half-siblings. That’s just a fun fact.” She further added, “It’s really good for two truths and a lie, I found out about the Shivon Zilis thing the same as everyone else did. I had no idea before that.” She also mentioned learning about Grimes’ second child through a Reddit post by a drag queen.
Wilson indicated that communication with Grimes has improved since Grimes publicly voiced support for her last year. She also mentioned discovering Musk’s alleged recent child with influencer Ashley St. Clair via Reddit.

Views on Elon Musk’s Behavior and Estrangement
The interview explored the current state of Wilson’s relationship with Musk, which she characterized with indifference. “I didn’t give a f*** about” the relationship, she stated frankly.
She addressed Musk’s recent conduct, including actions perceived by some as a Nazi salute during an address to a group of MAGA supporters. “I’ll see things about him in the news and think, That’s f**king cringe, I should probably post about this and denounce it, which I have done a few times,” she commented.

Wilson Denounces Musk’s Actions
“The Nazi salute s*** was insane. Honey, we’re going to call a fig a fig, and we’re going to call a Nazi salute what it was. That s*** was definitely a Nazi salute,” Wilson asserted. She further emphasized her detachment, saying, “I don’t give a f**k about him. I really don’t. It’s annoying that people associate me with him. I just don’t have any room to care anymore.”
When asked if she harbors fear towards her father, she dismissed the notion, labeling him a “pathetic man-child.” “People thrive off of fear. I’m not giving anyone that space in my mind. The only thing that gets to live free in my mind are drag queens,” she stated.
Musk’s Past Comments on Gender Transition and Puberty Blockers
Wilson’s anger toward Musk escalated last year after he claimed in an interview that he was “tricked” into consenting to her use of puberty blockers. Musk, using male pronouns and her birth name, asserted that his “son” had been “killed by the woke mind virus.”

Musk described the situation as “evil,” claiming, “I was essentially tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys. This was before I had any understanding of what was going on, and we had COVID going on, so there was a lot of confusion. I was told Xavier might commit suicide.” Regarding gender dysphoria, he expressed extreme views, stating, “It’s incredibly evil and I agree with you that the people that are promoting this should go to prison.”
He further asserted, “I was tricked into doing this. It wasn’t explained to me that puberty blockers are actually just sterilization drugs. They call it ‘deadnaming’ for a reason. The reason they call it ‘deadnaming’ is because your son is dead, so my son, Xavier, is dead, killed by the woke mind virus.” Deadnaming refers to the practice of using a transgender person’s birth name instead of their chosen name.
Wilson’s Rebuttal and Claims of Past Harassment
In a strong response on Threads, Wilson refuted multiple allegations made by her father. She suggested that Musk’s claims stemmed from his absence during her childhood.
