The death toll from January’s devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County has risen to 30, officials confirmed Wednesday. The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner’s office released the updated figure following the identification of another victim.
Eaton Fire Death Toll Increased
The latest fatality is linked to the Eaton Fire. Remains were discovered on the 900 block of Boston Street in Altadena, and subsequently identified by the Medical Examiner as connected to this blaze. The individual had been previously designated as “unidentified doe No. 203.”
Breakdown of Fatalities: Eaton and Palisades Fires
With this recent confirmation, the Eaton Fire’s death toll now stands at 18. The Palisades Fire resulted in 12 fatalities.
