“However, the lipsticks and cosmetics are now untouched, and clothing holds little interest, particularly leopard print,” he added, referencing her signature style.
Scott conveyed his profound sense of grief, recalling Julie’s vibrant persona: “I miss the fun-loving wife Julie always was, the larger-than-life character who illuminated every space she entered, and the smile that brightened up every room.”
He somberly acknowledged the devastating progression of her illness, stating: “All of this is gradually diminishing, and it is extremely painful to witness this decline.”
Seeking Support from the Alzheimer’s Society
Discussing the invaluable support received from the Alzheimer’s Society, Scott revealed: “For me, the most challenging aspect was accepting and coming to terms with the diagnosis. Initially, I declined assistance, believing I could manage independently due to our private nature. This approach, however, proved unsustainable.”
He further explained: “I quickly understood the necessity of seeking help, as it was beyond my capacity to manage alone.”

Born in Heywood, Lancashire in 1942, Julie Goodyear commenced her distinguished career as a model in the 1960s before transitioning to acting in 1965.
