Four Actors Cast to Play The Beatles in Upcoming Biopic Movies

In a landmark cinematic undertaking, four actors have been selected to portray each member of The Beatles, widely regarded as the most influential band in popular music history. Devotees of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr—the iconic Fab Four—will soon have a unique opportunity to witness the journeys of their beloved musicians dramatized on the silver screen. Instead of a single biographical film, an ambitious project of four distinct biopic movies is planned for release in theaters in three years.

Information regarding the casting of these Beatles movies was revealed at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on March 31, 2025. This announcement disclosed the actors chosen to embody each member of the legendary Liverpool rock and roll group in these highly anticipated cinematic productions. Below is a summary of what is currently known about The Beatles biopic project.

Release Date for The Beatles Biopic Movies

Sony Pictures has announced the release of The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, scheduled to premiere in cinemas in April 2028. According to director Sam Mendes, each film will be available for viewing on the big screen during that month.

“We’re not just making one film about the Beatles — we’re making four,” Mendes stated at CinemaCon, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. “Perhaps this is a chance to understand them a little more deeply.”

The official logline for the biopics, according to Variety, reads: “Each man has his own story, but together they are legendary.” The publication also noted that this release model could be considered the “first binge-able theatrical experience.”

Paul McCartney Will Be Portrayed by Paul Mescal

Actor Paul Mescal has been cast to play Paul McCartney. Mescal’s recent notable roles include appearances in Gladiator II, The Lost Daughter, God’s Creatures, and All of Us Strangers. The Irish actor has garnered multiple award nominations and is a recipient of a BAFTA TV Award.
