New Multiplayer Maps at Launch

As outlined in the season roadmap, Call of Duty Black Ops Season 3 commences with the introduction of two brand-new maps and a reimagined classic map.

Starting April 2, Black Ops 6 players can engage in combat on the medium-sized Barrage map and the compact Nomad map, in addition to experiencing the updated Firing Range.

Barrage

Barrage, designed for 6v6 engagements, is set in Vietnam, 1968. This map incorporates locations such as a Command Center, Barracks, a Watchtower, and Gun Pits, among other tactical points of interest.

Nomad

Nomad is a smaller arena suitable for both 6v6 and 2v2 matches. Located in Afghanistan, it presents a landscape featuring decaying archways, a fortified settlement, and a prominent central tower. Activision has indicated that players can utilize a zipline for swift navigation across the map.

Firing Range

Firing Range, a medium-sized 6v6 map, is presented as a remastered version of a beloved map. Activision elaborates, “Anticipate intense crossfire along the central Road as Operators vie for control of strategic vantage points in the Tower and the upper levels of the Shoot House and Garage.”

“Moving shooting targets on tracks behind the Office and other areas can serve as distractions while preparing for combat. To bypass the central conflict, venture onto the Dirt Road, remaining vigilant against potential ambushes near the Storage unit.”

Further maps, including Haven, Signal, and Blazetown, are scheduled to be added during the mid-season update.

New Game Modes

Season 3 introduces Sharpshooter and Demolition game modes at launch, with Joint Operations scheduled for a later release within the season.

Demolition challenges players to alternate between attacking and defending two bomb sites, while Sharpshooter modifies loadouts every 45 seconds. In Sharpshooter party mode, players can unlock bonus abilities for achieving killstreaks.

Gameplay Enhancements

Black Ops 6 players can also anticipate fresh gameplay augmentations, such as the Close Shave Perk and the Death Machine scorestreak.

Multiplayer Ranked Play

The Season 3 commencement will also mark the arrival of Multiplayer Ranked Play, mirroring the competitive settings of the Call of Duty League.

“Discover your true competitive level by participating in Ranked Multiplayer matches utilizing the identical settings, maps, modes, and weapon restrictions employed by the Call of Duty League,” Activision stated.

“Secure match victories to accumulate SR (Skill Rating) and ascend through the Ranks, earning career rewards like Rank Skins and Win Challenge incentives.”

Rewards include the Pro Issue AMES 85 Weapon Blueprint for achieving ten wins, alongside various Calling Cards for rank progression. Weapon Blueprints are additionally obtainable through Multiplayer Ranked Play.

Zombies Mode Content

Fans of the Zombies mode will also receive new content, including the Shattered Veil map, novel enemy types, and the Double Tap Perk-A-Cola.

Season 3 Battle Pass

As expected with a new season launch, a new Battle Pass will be available, offering over 110 rewards applicable across all game modes.

The Season 3 Battle Pass encompasses new Operator skins, featuring Mace and Hudson.

In total, the Battle Pass contains more than 110 rewards, incorporating two new weapons, the Monolithic Suppressor Attachment, and numerous other items.

A separate BlackCell Battle Pass is also available, presenting Mace and Hudson variants, alongside Operator R0-Z3, a Martial Arts emote, COD Points, and XP boosts.
