Rebecca Loos Reasserts Claims of David Beckham Affair
In a renewed media appearance, Rebecca Loos, the former personal assistant to David Beckham, has reiterated her assertions regarding an alleged affair with the famed soccer icon. Speaking on “60 Minutes Australia,” Loos stood firm on her narrative of a purported romantic involvement with Beckham dating back over two decades.
“Brave” to Speak Out Against Beckhams
Loos, 47, characterized her decision to speak publicly as “brave,” particularly in light of the public profile and influence of David, 49, and Victoria Beckham, 50. The couple has been married since 1999. She emphasized the power imbalance, stating, “In my opinion, it was a very brave thing to do to go up against them.”
“Stuck to the Truth”
“I have adhered to the truth. My accounts have been consistent and factual,” Loos stated, defending her disclosures. “I have never exaggerated. I never lied about a single detail,” she added, highlighting the challenges of her position. “Why? Because I’m confronting arguably the most powerful celebrity couple in the media, possessing vast financial resources for top-tier public relations and legal representation.”
“Truth was my only asset,” she concluded.
Details of Alleged Affair Recounted
Loos initially made her affair allegations public in April 2004, claiming a four-month relationship with David during his marriage to Victoria, with whom he has four children. These claims resurfaced in the Beckham’s 2023 Netflix docuseries, “Beckham,” although David Beckham has consistently denied any infidelity.
Claim of Being “Played”
In her “60 Minutes” interview, Loos, now married to Norwegian physician Sven Christjar Skaiaa and a mother of two, asserted she was naive at the time of the purported affair. She recounted feeling deceived after witnessing Beckham’s behavior shortly after their alleged encounters. “And then two weeks later we were at Ronaldo’s birthday party and he’s off with this beautiful model,” she recalled, describing a moment of disillusionment. “And I was like, ‘Uh.’ That was a difficult evening for me. It triggered a realization that I’d been significantly misled.”
Motivation for Public Disclosure
Addressing her reasons for speaking out about the alleged affair, Loos explained her desire to control the narrative. “I always felt it was preferable for the story to come from me, allowing me some degree of agency. Furthermore, in doing so, it was a way for me to… not retaliate against him directly, but to… express my feelings,” she stated.
“Unfair” Treatment and “Two-Faced Life”
She elaborated on her feelings of injustice and betrayal. “I felt his treatment of me was deeply unfair – the duplicity of his actions. This ‘two-faced life’ he led,” Loos continued. “I was aware of the significance of his public image. In a way, I wanted him to experience some pain as well. While it may sound retaliatory, at 26 years old, such reactions are common responses to heartbreak and emotional distress.”
Loos mentioned her frustration with Beckham’s denials of her claims. She also pointed out the disparity in public perception, noting, “There were numerous damaging stories circulating about both myself and Victoria at the time, yet David’s public life remained largely unaffected.”
Representatives for the Beckhams have been contacted for comment by The Post.
Beckhams Address Allegations in Docuseries
In their Netflix docuseries, David and Victoria Beckham indirectly referenced Loos’s allegations without explicitly naming her. “There were some awful stories that were hard to cope with,” David acknowledged in the 2023 series. “It marked the first instance where Victoria and I faced such intense pressure within our marriage.”
“It was the most challenging period for us,” Victoria added. “Because it felt as though the world was arrayed against us. And the reality is, we were also confronting internal conflict, if I’m completely honest.”
Loos Responds to Docuseries and Seeks Truth
Following the release of “Beckham,” Loos conveyed to the Daily Mail her perception that David was “indirectly suggesting” she was responsible for Victoria’s suffering during that period.
“Yes, the narratives were unpleasant, but they are factual,” she maintained. “He mentions in the documentary the importance of his private life remaining private, and shutting things down. I believe there is a distinction between maintaining privacy and misleading the public.”
Loos concluded by stating her desire for her children “to know that their mother had the courage to confront powerful figures and advocate for the truth.”
