Chase Chrisley Celebrates Sobriety Milestone Amidst Legal Scrutiny

Reality television personality Chase Chrisley, known from “Chrisley Knows Best,” is marking a significant personal achievement, announcing nearly one month of sobriety. This milestone comes as the reality star navigates previous reports of alleged assault from earlier this year, bringing his personal struggles into the public eye.

Sobriety Announcement on Social Media

The 28-year-old Chrisley shared his progress with followers on Instagram on Saturday, March 29. Accompanying a selfie taken while relaxing on a lounge chair with a water view, Chrisley wrote, “Almost one month alcohol free, feeling better than I have in years. God is good #sober #sobriety.” This public declaration highlights a positive turn for Chrisley as he focuses on personal well-being.

Assault Allegations Surface

Chrisley’s sobriety update follows news from two months prior concerning his alleged involvement in an assault incident. According to a police report obtained by Us Weekly in January, Atlanta Police Department officers responded to a call at Twin Peaks Sports Bar. An employee of the establishment claimed to have been assaulted by the Chrisley Knows Best cast member.

Employee Account of Incident

The police report details the employee’s statement alleging that Chrisley “became really drunk” while at the sports bar and started behaving in a manner described as “very disrespectful and belligerent.”

Details of Alleged Confrontation

The employee further told police that Chrisley was asked to leave the restaurant on “multiple occasions.” Allegedly, Chrisley “refused to leave and started acting more belligerent.” The employee accused Chrisley of twice slapping him in the face. Notably, the employee reportedly did not sustain injuries and declined medical attention.

Security Footage and Investigation

The alleged victim informed authorities of security camera footage that captured the purported incident. It is currently unknown if this footage has been shared with law enforcement. At the time the news broke, Us Weekly reportedly reached out to Chrisley’s representative for comment regarding the allegations.

Legal Proceedings and Chrisley’s Response

Reports from the Daily Mail indicated that Chrisley was arrested and booked on a misdemeanor simple battery charge in January. He was subsequently released on a $10,000 bond. However, Chrisley’s publicist claimed that the employee decided against “pressing charges” in the matter.

Denial of Allegations

In a February interview, Chrisley addressed the allegations and denied any wrongdoing. He characterized the situation as “blown out of proportion.”

“I didn’t slap that dude in Atlanta. That didn’t happen,” Chrisley asserted in the interview. “If I was gonna put my hands on somebody I would get my money’s worth. I wouldn’t just get a slap. I might have been talking s*** and so was the other guy but I didn’t put my hands on him. If I wasn’t who I was that wouldn’t have been a situation.”

Family Support Amidst Parental Incarceration

Chase Chrisley is the son of Todd and Julie Chrisley, both of whom are currently serving prison sentences following convictions for fraud and tax evasion. In addition to Chase, Todd and Julie share children Savannah, 27, and Grayson, 18. Todd also has two older children, Lindsie, 35, and Kyle, 33, from a previous marriage. Todd and Julie adopted Kyle’s daughter Chloe, now 12, in 2016. Savannah Chrisley has taken on the responsibility of caring for Grayson and Chloe while her parents are incarcerated.

Reduced Sentences for Todd and Julie Chrisley

Both Todd and Julie Chrisley received reductions to their respective prison sentences in September 2023. Julie’s current expected release date is March 2028, while Todd is scheduled to remain incarcerated until May 2032.

Family Visits and Challenges

“Savannah will go see my dad, I’ll go see my mom. We’ll rotate, and Savannah will normally take the kids [Grayson and Chloe] down with her,” Chase explained on the “Chasin’ Birdies” podcast in May 2023, discussing the family’s visitation schedule. He added, “But it’s tough, man. I mean, our family loves really, really hard, so when you love somebody as much as we love each other, it’s definitely very difficult to see your loved ones in a situation like that.”
